Let's talk about feet!

How much time do you spend on your feet each day?  Running errands, making meals, picking up toys, cleaning, walking around the office . . . yes, ladies we spend A LOT of time on our feet. 

So . . . we should be taking care of them.  Right?  Right! 

Of course, most of us don't have the time or the money to go to a salon or a spa for a pedicure, so we have to learn to take care of our own feet.

I want to thank you for hanging in here with me for a year of crafting.  And I want to thank you in advance for hanging in here with me for the next month or two during the packing, moving, unpacking and reorganizing . . . a period during which there will be very little crafting.

A number of you have asked if I'm doing another year of gift-making.  The answer is "yes" and "no".  Yes, because I am going to be making gifts again this year.  And no, because it will not be a full 12 months of gift-making . . . more like 10 by the time I get situated in my new home and back at it again.   

So I would love it if you would be willing to hang in there with my move-related rants for the next little while until the gift-making consumes me once again.

This is a big day . . . for two reasons!

Bev from Flamingo Toes and I were "talking" weeks ago . . . when we were both swamped with the fun and festivity of Christmas . . . about how much we needed a break - a little "me" time.  (By the way, have you seen her new blog design.  I'm a little jealous, and I'm not at all afraid to admit that.) 

We decided we needed a spa day!

Unfortunately, we can't get together for a real spa day, so we decided the next best thing was to have a Blog Spa Week - and invite all of you!




Sometimes with all the hats we wear as women - moms, grandmas, wives, cooks, decorators, employees/employers and businesswomen - it's so easy to forget that we need to take a little bit of time occasionally for ourselves - to recharge and refresh.

i've been away . . . did you notice?

Not "away" literally because literally I've been right here.  (Do you ever notice how people use the word literally wrong?  For example, "I literally lost my mind."  No, if your brain is still inside your skull, you know exactly where your mind is.  You didn't lose it.  Or, "My children are literally climbing the walls."  No, unless your children have developed the super powers of Spiderman, then they are not literally climbing the walls."  In case you didn't notice, that's a pet peeve of mine.)  But I've been away from blogland (more on that tomorrow) because I've been doing this:

What is this?  Well, THIS represents:
21 garbage bags of clothes, toys, shoes, blankets, etc.
5 boxes of pots, pans, office supplies, books, etc
10 days of sorting, cleaning and organizing
8 trips to the donation truck

And guess what . . . go on . . . guess. 

I'm not even close to done!

Moving is not my favorite activity.  I would much rather be crafting!
