confession is good for the soul

I have a confession to make . . .

I have never actually seen The Sound of Music.  I know . . . shocking!  But somehow the songs from The Sound of Music have wiggled their lyrics and tunes inside my brain.

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

This song is catchy and even though I've never seen a cooper kettle, worn wool mittens or received a package wrapped in brown paper and string, I find myself signing these words as if these items were actually my favorite things.

Well, tonight if I could add my own list of favorite things to this song, at the very top of my list would be this . . .

As I began dreaming about the pretend and play mail carrier kit for my eighth craft till Christmas, I stumbled upon this at the store.  I wasn't sure what I would use it for, and now after using it over and over again in the past week, I wonder . . . "What wouldn't I use this for?"  This stuff rocks.

So here's my own verse to add to this familiar song:

Sweet baby kisses and little square Cheez-its
Peel n Stick Fabric Fuse Permanent Adhesive
Crafting and sewing and a cell phone that rings*
These are a few of my favorite things

Don't expect to see this version of My Favorite Things topping the charts anytime soon, but do check out Peel n Stick Fabric Fuse Permanent Adhesive if you haven't already.

You won't be disappointed.

Craft on!

*I currently have a cell phone that doesn't ring, so I have grown to appreciate that simple pleasure.

I don't think that I will find it here in Portugal... :(
Somethings that american blogs talk about I cannot find in Portugal.
'sound of music' is one my favorites!
It was the first real people movie that I saw (I only have seen cartoons until then)! I was 7 or 8 years, and I went with my father and brother, in a movie theater that was having a reposition of old movies. Since then I probabilly saw it more than 50 times! And my daughter already saw it too!! :)

You are right.....Peel n Stick is great for so many things! It makes some projects so much easier. I've seen "The Sound of Music" and it's a good movie but what I really like is the song "My favorite things". I used to sing it a lot when my daughter was little and she can still remember that. :-)

Thanks for the heads up! Gotta check it out! Would make an awesome stocking stuffer for my crafty darling twenty-somethings.

Would this be good for the felt and fabric house? Maybe easier then glue?

Hmmm . . . I think it would work really well on the bigger items - like a fireplace, rug, windows, etc, but not smaller or finer things like a flower stem the panes on the window. It's definitely more expensive than fabric glue though.

I've never seen the movie either! Maybe I'll have to add it to the summer to do list.
