Sometimes it's the simple things . . . crayons, foam stickers, paint markers, glue, scissors . . . that are the most fun.
That last picture is one of my favorite simple kids' crafts . . . cards recycled into art.
Do you keep the cards that you are given for birthdays, anniversaries, Easter, Thanksgiving, etc? If you don't, you are missing out on a simple and entertaining craft supply. When we receive cards in our family, I simply cut off the front of the card or cut out any graphics on the inside or back. Then I tuck these cut-outs into a craft container. Here's a quick glance at my messy collection:
And we are holding hands too . . . so cute!
I asked her why she was frowning. She said, "I forgot how to draw a smile for a second, so I'm just smiling upside down." I guess that's what a frown is . . . just an upside down smile waiting to be turned right side up!
So start filing away those cards and your child might just be a budding recycled card artist.
Craft on!
I may link this idea to some of these great parties.

Those are beautiful pictures! You have talented children too! I love all the things that kids manage to recycle into crafts! I only hope I can continue finding uses for all these bits an pieces when the kids grow up!!
Great memories and such good practice for the children...budding artists!!!
What a cute bunch of little artists!! Great idea too. Very cute.

What a GREAT idea to use old cards. I recycle them...not anymore! Thanks for posting!
I have a box of cards too! Except I haven't used mine. Love the pictures!
We save our cards too!!
I find it amazing what details children notice and incorporate into their artwork.
I love her reason for frowning!! Adorable.
That is so sweet. I love what she said about smiles. We used to do something similar - the kids would make cards for family every year from the previous year's Christmas cards. It was fun to see what they'd come up with.
And I think you'd look just great bald. ;)
I thought you'd like this epattern!

Your card art is great! What a wonderful idea! I mostly use my old cards to punch out hang tags for gift giving. Thanks for sharing.
Visiting from All Thingz Related.
Super cute! Your girls are dolls!
Great idea! Have you checked out the craft/art ideas on education.com? They are having a contest of sorts right now and they often have another in the Fall so you could do these great crafts with your kids and maybe win a prize in the process! I'm not affiliated with them, but I've been using their site for awhile and find lots of great crafty things for my boy. :)
How cute those pictures are your daughter made. Good idea to keep cards....I seem to collect them but never put them to use. May just use them for scrapbooking or save them for the grandkids.
Thanks!
xoxo
